Customer profile:
The customer relied on Oracle E-Business Suite for core finance and operational workflows. Their version was approaching the end of mainstream support, and the underlying environment had not kept pace with current requirements. Both the application and supporting infrastructure needed attention, but downtime and operational risk were major concerns.
Aqil partnered with the customer’s internal IT and systems team to plan and execute an Oracle EBS upgrade while also helping modernize the supporting environment. This included validating hardware capacity, aligning operating system and database versions, and building refreshed non-production environments to safely test the upgrade path.
Rather than treating the upgrade as a single cutover event, Aqil worked through multiple rehearsal runs, allowing issues to be identified early and execution time to be reduced. Clear communication was maintained throughout the process so IT and business stakeholders understood timing, risks, and dependencies ahead of the production upgrade.
What changed:
- Oracle EBS was upgraded within a short, planned downtime window
- The supporting environment was refreshed to meet current platform requirements
- The internal IT and systems team gained a stable, supportable environment going forward
The system remained in place, but it was brought forward in a controlled way. The upgrade reduced long-term risk without disrupting day-to-day operations.
